Throughout the history of the Pasanau family, which stretches back over the centuries, there is an unequivocal commitment to Priorat land. Settled in the town of Poboleda since 1850, the Pasanau worked the family's land continuously until the end of the 19th century, when the devastating plague of phylloxera swept through the Priorat and its wine industry.
In 1940, great-grandfather Joan Pasanau Garcia, a man of remarkable vision and determination, began replanting the land with new vines. His pioneering spirit and his deep love for the land are still evident in the old vines of Grenache and Carinyenne planted on the coasts of Llicorella, the first to be planted within the D.O.Q. Priory in 1984.
During the decade of the 80s, the fourth generation of the Pasanau - the brothers Joan, Albert and Ricard - took over the vineyards and acquired other properties, introducing new varieties and new cultivation systems with respect for the land as they taught us our ancestors In 1995, following the path towards the dream of grandfather Joan Pasanau Estrems, the three brothers built the current winery in the village of La Morera de Montsant, at the foot of the Serra del Montsant.
In 2001, Wine Spectator placed the wine of Finca La Planeta 1997 in place nº 58 in the world, a recognition of the strength of up to that time four generations of Pasanau who made their way between vertiginous coastlines and licorella ridges in pursuit of a dream .
Since 2020, the fifth generation has made a firm commitment to the quality and typicality of wines that are unique in the world.
